Freetobook charges an annual integration fee of £89 for providing you with this great payment functionality, all of which can be accessed through your freetobook account.

Biggest issue with Stripe for me is that is cannot process any amount with over 8 digits. Especially currencies such as Rupiah. eg an Indonesian rupiah amount of idr 1,000,000.00 (usd $74.00) cannot be processed. One nights accommodation is typically higher than this. So Stripe is useless in many asian countries.
That is a good point I think Stripe should be able to deal with big numbers in currency.
We are just in the process of purchasing our holiday let and will be using Freetobook on our website. The Stripe testimonials on here look good but there trustpilot reviews are terrible so feeling a bit unsure. What about Paypal – can I use it with Freetobook and what have people’s experiences been like with that? Any thoughts / comments welcome.
Our experience is that PayPal is expensive and has far less functionality. I can only speak for our customers and 92% of the ones using our Stripe integration say it “works well for our business”, PayPal doesn’t have the integration functionality so we don’t have any figures for them.
Have been using stripe for over a year and have been very happy with it. I use it to verify cards and then take payment on POS when guests arrive.
Recently had a few issues with stripe saying the card was declined but trying the card number on the POS it works fine. I contacted stripe and they say the customers card or bank doesn’t allow this kind of payment (not sure what that means). So now i have 4 card alerts on my ftb account. A little annoying, I will keep using stripe and monitor the situation.
